Teleradiology

Teleradiology is the electronic transfer of radiology images to a distant location. Healthcare reform and advances in computer technology are providing the impetus for increased use of teleradiology. Four aspects of a teleradiology system—image acquisition, compression, transmission, and display—are discussed. Speed and image quality are affected by variations in design.
