Ultrasound Diagnosis of Medullary Neplrocalcinosis in a Pediatric Patient

Department of Ultrasound/Diagnostic Radiology, 22 S. Greene Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.

The sonographic diagnosis and possible etiologies of medullary nephrocalcinosis in a neonate are described. Ultrasound findings include non-shadowing echogenic pyramids throughout the kidney. Possible etiologies in this patient include milk-alkali syndrome, hypervitaminosis D, and amphotericin B exposure.
