Priapism is defined as a prolonged penile erection in the absence of sexual stimulation. Priapism is divided into two types: low flow and high flow. Color doppler imaging plays an important role as a noninvasive method of diagnosing high-flow priapism caused by penile trauma. Two patients are presented with a history of penile trauma resulting in priapism. Abnormal increased flow in a resting state was demonstrated using color Doppler in each patient. This article reviews our experience, including methods for performing an effective ultrasound examination.

Key Words: high-flow priapism • traumatic priapism • penile • arteriovenous fisula • ultrasound • colors flow Doppler
