Thoracic Abdominal Aortic Dissection as an Incidental Finding on a Routine Renal Ultrasound for Hypertension

Aortic dissection is more common than aortic aneurysmal rupture. Affecting a younger age group than atherosclerotic aneurysms, it is closely associated with hypertension and collagen disorders. Ultrasound is not the primary imaging modality; however, clinically silent aortic dissections may first be detected on routine sonography, initiating a further diagnostic evaluation.
