Thoracic Abdominal Aortic Dissection as an Incidental Finding on a Routine Renal Ultrasound for Hypertension711 East Main Street #164, Riverton, WY 82501-4444 ridem{at}msn.com Aortic dissection is more common than aortic aneurysmal rupture. Affecting a younger age group than atherosclerotic aneurysms, it is closely associated with hypertension and collagen disorders. Ultrasound is not the primary imaging modality; however, clinically silent aortic dissections may first be detected on routine sonography, initiating a further diagnostic evaluation.
