Prenatal Diagnosis of Bilateral Tibial Hypoplasia in TwinsCentral Maine Imaging Center, Lewiston, Maine; Central Maine Imaging Center, 287 Main Street, Suite 100, Lewiston, ME 04240; nealw{at}prodigy.net The 1 in 1 million incidence of tibial hypoplasia makes it an uncommon condition, and diagnosis by ultrasound a rarity. Associated anomalies, such as clubfeet, can also be sonographically identified. Genetic counseling may be warranted by these findings. Treatment can vary depending on severity. Prenatal sonography and postnatal radiography can determine severity of this skeletal defect and assist in planning appropriate treatment for the best longterm results.
