Missed Abortion With a Coexisting Ectopic Pregnancy Encased Within an Intraovarian Hematoma

An ectopic pregnancy is defined as a pregnancy followingimplantation of the fertilized egg on any tissueother than the mucous membrane lining theuterine cavity. The incidence of ectopic pregnancyhas been on the rise since 1970. Currently, extremelysensitive pregnancy tests exist that allowearly diagnosis of unsuspected cases of ectopics.Another method of discovery in the diagnosis ofectopic pregnancy is high-resolution endovaginalsonography.
