Sonology Diagnosis of Pseudoaneurysms Following Breast Biopsies

Susan Alvarez, RDMS

Margaret Fendley, RDMS

Christine Allam-Ashe, RDMS, RDCS

Sonology has been very helpful in the diagnosis and treatment of pseudoaneurysms. Pseudoaneurysms have been reported as a postinterventional complication. The authors report 2 case studies of pseudoaneurysms resulting from breast biopsies. The first case study resolved on its own. The second case study showed no significant decrease in size after 5 months.

Key Words: breast ultrasound • postinterventional • pseudoaneurysm • color Doppler
