Spectrum of Hyperirophic Cardiomyopathy Viewed by M-Mode, 2D, and Doppler EchocardiographyA Review
Department of Cardiology, Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, CA 92350. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a primary myocardial disease that is characterized by a hypertrophied and nondilated left ventricle. Echocardiography has proved to be a valuable noninvasive tool in the diagnosis, follow-up, assessment of therapy, and family study of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. A complete M-mode, 2D, and Doppler examination should be performed to define the structural, functional, and flow abnormalities in this condition.
