DOI: 10.1177/8756479306286596 Incidental Sonographic Finding of Bilateral UreterocelesVirginia Mason Medical Center, C5-US-Ultrasound, 1100 9th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98111elizsono{at}comcast.net An ureterocele is a congenital saccular dilatation of the terminal aspect of the ureter, arising from abnormal embryogenesis and affecting the early development of the intravesicular ureter, the ipsilateral kidney, and its collecting system. This is one of the more challenging urologic abnormalities facing pediatric and adult urologists, posing a diagnostic and therapeutic dilemma because of the many variations of anatomic abnormalities and nonspecific clinical symptoms.
