A Simplified Explanation of Deconvolution

An overview of the mathematical technique of deconvolution as applied to coded excitation is presented. Knowledge of the coded transmission waveform in conjunction with the received echo wavetrain allows the reflectors along the beam path to be identified. Multiple illustrative examples demonstrate the application of deconvolution to real-time image formation.
