Teresa Sorensen, RDMS

North Shore X-Ray Services in North Vancouver, British Columbia, and Vancouver Coastal Health in North Vancouver and Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada, hsmechanical{at}dccnet.com

A woman in her early 30s was referred for assessment of a midline cystic mass in her 22-week fetus that was discovered on a routine detailed sonogram. Sonography and magnetic resonance imaging confirmed a midline cystic mass separate from the fetal bladder and stomach in an otherwise normal fetus. The diagnosis of a type I choledochal cyst was made.

Key Words: choledochal cyst • bile duct • biliary atresia • jaundice
