Twin pregnancies are considered high risk, with monochorionic-monoamniotic twins being a rare occurrence. Monoamniotic twins carry an increased risk for fetal mortality, commonly due to umbilical cord entanglement and/or knotting of the cord. Presented are three cases of monochorionic-monoamniotic twins occurring in a clinic in rural western Kentucky within a one-year period. All three sets of twins had a positive postnatal outcome.

Key Words: monochorionic-monoamniotic • cord entanglement • mortality
