Doppler Ultrasonography and Segmental Arterial Pressures to Assess Arterial Circulation in the Lower ExtremitiesA ReviewDeborah Heart and Lung Center, Department of Radiology, Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015. Utilizing Doppler ultrasound and segmental pressures, the arterial circulation of the lower extremities can be evaluated. By assessing the flow waveform patterns and the systolic pressure gradients, one can determine the presence and level of arterial disease. In this review, atherosclerosis is discussed. Techniques for Doppler ultrasound and segmental pressures are described. Two cases are presented and discussed.
