How to Get What You Want from Administration and Sales People

Ann R. McClary, MBA, RDMS

Department of Sales and Marketing, Mesa Medical Inc., 3904 Youngfield Street, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033

The sonographer who has moved into a supervisory or administrative position is faced with learning the business aspects of medical care. Preparing reports and requesting new equipment must reflect a well-thoughtout plan. Providing decision-makers with complete information and supporting reasons for the request will result in more requests granted. This article addresses how to research, write, and present a request for equipment, evaluate the equipment, and deal with the sales situation.

Key Words: equipment evaluation • research and writing • purchasing • decision making
