Image Recording Devices

Radiology Department, Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio; Radiology Department, St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center, Lorain, Ohio, Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, Ohio.

An overview of image recording devices that include multiformat camera, laser camera, polaroid film, video printer, color video printer, and video cassette recorder is presented. The principles of operation for each device are discussed. Advantages and disadvantages of the various archiving techniques are compared.
