A Simplified Explanation of Fourier Analysis
Radiology Department, Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio, the Radiology Department, St. Joseph Hospital and Health Center, Lorain, Ohio, and the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, Ohio. An overview of Fourier analysis with applications in ultrasound physics is presented. Parameters used to characterize sine waves and the technique of combining sine waves to form more complex patterns are discussed. The concept of the frequency domain is explained with multiple illustrative examples.
